The Cliffords have lived in Frampton since the 11th century. Frampton Court, built in 1731, has a superb panelled interior housing period furniture, china and 19th century ‘Frampton Flora’ water-colours. Bed and breakfast and house parties available. The 18th century ‘Strawberry Hill gothic’ Orangery sits - breath-takingly - at the end of the ornamental canal in the garden at Frampton Court, and is now a self-catering holiday house. Half-timbered Frampton Manor is said to be the birth-place of ‘Fair Rosamund’ Clifford, mistress of Henry II. The walled garden is a plantsman’s delight.
