In the last 35 years Turkey Mill has undergone a huge transformation from working papermill (it closed in 1976) to private residence and home to Young and Partners Motor Dealership, to a business park for more than 65 companies alongside the Orangery and an established events venue.
When Turkey Mill was bought by the present owners, Turkey Mill Investments, in 1997 there was a roughly equal split between industrial tenants and office occupiers. A decision was made early on to move the estate to full office use and to convert the remaining industrial buildings to offices as they became available.
Since taking over Turkey Mill, there is barely a building that hasn’t either been converted from industrial to office use or been refurbished. New areas of parking have been developed and there has been a massive investment in upgrading existing buildings and plant, hard and soft landscaping and providing disability access.
Turkey Mill includes a number of listed Grade II* buildings and each planning application must be accompanied by a Listed Building Application. English Heritage also take a very close interest.
Work completed on the stunning Garden Room, an extension to the Orangery, in April 2010, the main feature being the central glazed roof lantern ensuring the room is always light.
Turkey Mill is a completely unique Business Park which has undergone many changes in a relatively short time in its long and distinguished history.
