A stunning medieval Moated Hall (Grade I) frequently described as "one of England’s loveliest houses". Noted for its richly carved beams, superb linenfold panelling and 16th century wall paintings, Otley Hall was once owned by the Gosnold family and is still a family home. Bartholomew Gosnold voyaged to the New World in 1602 and named Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. Gosnold returned in 1607 and founded the Jamestown colony, the first English-speaking settlement in the US. The unique 10-acre gardens include historically accurate Tudor re-creations and were voted among the top 10 gardens to visit in Great Britain.
