In 1901 President Franklin Roosevelt described these gardens as a ‘Dream of Nirvana … almost too good to be true’. 50 years later, the house was pulled down and the gardens abandoned. 100 years later see the ongoing revival of these magnificent gardens. Funded privately and with the support of visitors, this garden experience is like no other. Alongside the recovery of these 400 year old gardens are: fantastic snowdrops, David Austin Roses and Sweet Pea Collections, a cut flower garden, cottage garden and pictorial meadow plantings. Teas and light lunches are served overlooking the garden. Groups can book out of hours if wished.
Open from 2nd March until 31st October 2014, Adults £6.75 / Children £2.75
