The Custom House, located on Exeter’s historic Quayside, was constructed from 1680-1682. It is the earliest substantial brick building in Exeter and was used by HM Customs and Excise until 1989. The building has an impressive sweeping staircase and spectacular ornamental plaster ceilings.
