Spanning three centuries of horticultural history the Bicton Park Botanical Gardens houses one of the world’s most beautiful garden buildings, the high-domed Palm House (built 1820-150). View the important collection of conifers in the Pinetum, visit St Mary’s Church where Queen Victoria worshipped and enjoy the full grandeur of the Italian Garden which can be seen from the spacious restaurant in the classically styled Organery (built early 19th c). The large museum reflects two centuries of changes in agricultural and rural life. Then hop aboard the narrow-gauge railway for a leisurely trip around the garden. Don’t miss the Gift shop, garden centre, children’s play areas, inside and outdoor, including an eco friendly Ice Rink.
