St Michael?s sits in a quiet, idyllic valley west of Bridgnorth. With its stone walls and moss-covered roof this mostly Norman church looks as much a part of the landscape as the trees that surround it.
In February, a carpet of snowdrops enlivens the graveyard.
The church’s interior is sparsely furnished and has a lovely Norman arch in the centre. Just inside the door are the only remains of a couple of figures forming two incomplete scenes from a Nativity cycle.
Nearby is Upton Cressett Hall, a privately owned manor, built in the reign of Elizabeth I.
