Church of The Blessed Virgin Mary

Church of The Blessed Virgin Mary

Much of the church we see standing on a ridge of the Mendips dates from an early Georgian rebuilding, but its shape and site suggest Saxon origins.

Its prominent central tower, rising to an elegant parapet with four crocketted pinnacles at the corners, has a 13th-century base.

Inside are 18th-century fittings and the lovely barrel-shaped nave ceiling has a decorated plaster frieze at its east end.
